The sixth Fest at smallfandomfest is now open for prompts! We’re pretty excited at the prospect of getting a bunch of new fanfic and fanart in our favorite small fandoms, and we hope that you are, too. But we need your help!

We need you to submit loads of prompts to entice others to write or create graphics, and if you know anyone else who loves small fandoms, please pimp us out to them!

I'M BACK, I'M BACK, I'M BACK! Oh man... I didn't realize how heavily I relied on the computer for every-damn-thing I do until it was unceremoniously yoinked from my desperate grasp. 24 hours without a computer and I was definitely starting to lose my sanity there. (The tech guy worked on my laptop for four hours and was actually impressed at how badly it was infected. Amazing.)

And now I'm three full days behind on NaNo! On the flip side, I did finish reading House of Leaves. Oh yes, the whole thing. Upon reflection, that probably didn't help with sanity-keeping aspect. *g* I also wrote some crappy poetry, watched Matlock, and decided that the first (and very likely only) album for Elevators Out Of Context is called Albino Zebra. I may have doodled cover art.

Okay. I require serious caffeine and then I shall attempt to catch back up with my life here.

Apparently today is the 40th anniversary of the day Sesame Street first aired. That's... hard to believe, to be honest.

I grew up watching Sesame Street during the 80s, both new episodes and reruns from earlier years. My brother and I probably went through at least three different copies of Follow That Bird on VHS (and I freely admit that I not only own it on DVD as well, but I also have this book as well). Seriously, this show pretty much was my childhood.

I remember watching the episode where Mr. Hooper died for the first time, and when everyone finally found out that Snuffy was real and not imaginary, and the Alligator King, and Bert and Ernie in an Egyptian pyramid with dancing pharoahs, and Alistair Cookie and the Monsterpiece Theater, and The Ladybug Picnic, and Super Grover, and the "Put Down the Duckie" special, and Maria and Luis's wedding, and "A Muppet Family Christmas" featuring pretty much all of the Muppets (from Fraggle Rock, The Muppet Show, and Sesame Street), and the day that Jim Hensen died, and... the list goes on and on.

Happy 40th birthday, Sesame Street. Thank you for everything.
